Youth News

Youth Leaders: Matthew & Jenny Voth

Middle School Youth Group: Students come early to Wednesday night meals and then walk four blocks to the Community Building by 6 p.m. for games, group activities and a lesson.  We will finish at 7 p.m. Bring a friend!  Right now we are learning about how Christians have a different worldview than everyone else. We will be doing activities and discussing different topics that help us see how we look at the world.

High School Bible Study
9th - 12th grade students meet weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Nelson home, 1542 Trail West.  Come as early as 7 p.m. to fellowship!  We are beginning a study of Wild At Heart for guys and Captivating for girls. We will spend a portion of our meeting talking about these books and God's Word about his purpose for men and women. We will still spend some of our time as a large group in Bible Study and time in prayer for one another.

Son Night Sunday nights!
This semester, Son Night focuses on making deposits in your Personal Bank Account -- not money, but investments in your character and future. Topics will include writing a mission statement, creating a resume, how to bounce back when bad things happen, cause and effect and many more.  Son Night is for Middle and High School youth and meets on Sunday evenings at the church from 6-8 p.m. during the school year.

Middle School Girls Overnight -- All FBC Middle School girls are invited to an overnight of fun and sharing on March 9th from 6:30 p.m. to Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Bring your Bible, a pen, sleeping bag, pillow and personal items. You should be receiving an invitation this week with all of the details. If you have any questions or to RSVP (and sign up for a snack to bring), call Tracy at 719-659-0173. Tracy, Jeanne Watson and two of Tracy's friends from college will lead the evening.

Middle School Boys Activity -- Keep watching for more information about an activity for you on Friday, March 9th.

Middle School Camp – All current 6th-8th grade students are invited to Bethel Camp in Clayhole, Kentucky this summer. Check out www.bethelcamp.org to learn more about the camp. We plan to leave on Friday, July 13th and drive to the camp. Saturday we will help with work projects around the camp, Sunday we will attend church and then help greet the counselors. Monday camp begins! Camp ends on Saturday and we will arrive home very late. This camp is directed by Matthew’s oldest brother, Roger. Camp cost will be approximately $120.

Camp Barnabas -- Camp Barnabas is a camp for mentally and physically handicapped youth and adults in southern Missouri. It is an awesome experience to go and serve there for a week. We will be taking a group June 8-15 this summer, working with physically handicapped youth. We still have one boy's spot for a 14-15 year old Barnstormer and one boy's spot for a 16-29 year old counselor. If you are interested in an application or in more information about the camp, look at www.campbarnabas.org or call Matthew at 241-6400.
