COVID INFORMATION

Per county guidelines, we do ask that all adults and older children wear a mask upon entry at drop-off. We have a small-ish space and are not easily able to social distance so this is the best practice for the time being. If/when the county changes their mandate, we will adapt and change accordingly. Children age 5 and younger are not required to wear a mask.

We will have hand sanitizer near the sign-in podium that you are welcome to use.  There will be multiple pens for you to use when you sign your child in. We will do temperature checks on the kiddos before entry into the room (100 or above and they will be sent home) and they will wash their hands before sitting down at the circle.

In the classroom, we will spread out as much as we can, but we all know children like to play with each other.  We will have smaller limits on the number of children at one center and spread out a little more at snack time.  Our practice has always been to wash hands when coming in from outside or fellowship hall (if we go out early in class), before and after snack and after using the bathroom. That will not change.  We will clean toys and touchable surfaces regularly.

If one child in a class would be tested positive for Covid, the entire class would be required to be in a modified quarantine. This means that your child can go to and from school and daycare (if used) but nowhere else. Because the child will have been exposed at school, this will keep the spread to just school and home (and daycare) if it would happen to spread. If your class is in modified quarantine, you will be asked to keep your kiddo home from play-dates, birthday parties and anything else that would be outside of the house. The same would apply if a teacher were to test positive.   If we have a large number of students sick at one time (Covid or not) we will decide as a board if we need to close the entire school to preform a super deep clean and to keep everyone separated to get kids healthy again. If you believe your child may have Covid or any illness and will not be at school, please let me know by phone 620-241-1452 or email sonshinemac@gmail.com.

If your child isn’t feeling well, please keep them home. As a parent a lot of times, you can tell that your child is just “off”. It may not be Covid, but it may be something so lets try not to share those germs  and have a great, healthy school year!

Because Covid is continually changing and what the city/county/state do to combat the spread of Covid is continually changing, we will update our procedures as needed.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
